I made batches of this drink on Veggie Meals’ release party this Saturday.
A lot of people were asking for the recipe and I promised to put it on the Internetz, here it goes:
Ginger Cinnamon Cocktail
large balls of ice 2 parts ginger infused vodka 2 parts cinnamon sugar water 1 part lemon juice splashes of tonic water
Cinnamon sugar water (8-10 drinks)
2,5 dl | 1 cup water 2,5 dl | 1 cup white sugar 4 cinnamon sticks
Freeze big blocks of ice in plastic containers in the freezer.
Infuse vodka with grated ginger (riven ingefära). About 2 tbsp for 3,5 dl (1 2/5 cups) vodka. Leave it in the fridge for a few days, at least 24 hours.
Boil water, sugar and cinnamon sticks for about five minutes. Let it cool. Remove the cinnamon sticks.
Squeeze the fresh lemons (about 4 lemons) and filter the juice.
Mix 2 parts ginger infused vodka (3,5 dl | 1 2/5 cups for 8-10 drinks), 2 parts cinnamon sugar water and 1 part lemon juice in a big pitcher. Perhaps use a little less sugar water and a little more lemon depending on how sweet/sour you want it. Add tonic water if you find the drink too strong.
Use an ice chopper to cut out large balls of the ice blocks. Put one ice ball each in cocktail glasses or low whiskey glasses. Pour the drink over the ice and let it cool for a bit before serving.
